Andaz Maui at Wailia-A Review

When we were in Hawaii, we stayed at two hotels. The Hyatt Regency and The Andaz. I reviewed the Hyatt Regency in the previous blog. Here is my review of the Andaz.

Location

The Andaz in located in Wailea, with beachfront access to Mokapu beach. It is a category 8 hotel, Hyatt’s highest category. It was cost between 35,000-45,000 points per night. Since we went during peak season, we paid 45,000 points per night

We had a standard room with two queen beds and the room was what I would consider standard.

The “vibe”

If you are a fan of interior design, you will love the Andaz hotels. This hotel in Maui reminded me a lot of the Andaz Costa Rica. I found myself taking pictures of the furniture and designs to use as inspiration for my house. The food was amazing, the hotel breakfast was a buffet with several items (like eggs) ordered fresh from your table. The buffet was free with our globalist status. Even the pool service food was better than what you typically expect.

Upon arrival, you are greeting with a fresh Lei and lemonade. The entrance is breath taking with ocean views from the check in desk

Sunset views from the restaurant

While we were there, there was only a handful of kids. Most of the guest were couples. This seems like a great hotel for honeymooners. While my daughter wasn’t discouraged by this, this may not be the best place for kids who like to throw footballs in the pool or are more loud/active. There is a separate pool for adults who want to escape from kids :)

Bottom Line

Would I stay here again? Heck yeah! If you love a bougie hotel, you will love the Hyatt Andaz brand. It’s a bit pricey so I’d recommend splitting up your stay, staying somewhere a bit cheaper first and ending (on a good note) at the Andaz.
